Home Student Affairs Alumni Group for Engagement (SAAGE)

The Student Affairs Alumni Group for Engagement (SAAGE) is a select group of University of Maryland alumni who demonstrate their commitment to the University and the Division of Student Affairs through their shared passion for ensuring that all students thrive. This commitment is evident through their lived experiences as UMD student leaders, their ability to provide thoughtful counsel to the Vice President through their leadership and stature, their ongoing philanthropic support to the Division, and active participation in the Student Affairs community. 

Members of the SAAGE Board will;

  • Advocate
    • Members will communicate, endorse, and advocate for the missions and priorities of the Division of Student Affairs
    • Members will act as informed ambassadors of the Division of Student Affairs and the University of Maryland in the person and professional communities
    • Members will bring to the attention of the Division of Student Affairs leadership team issues and concerns that influence the student experience at UMD
  • Advise
    • Members will provide counsel to the Vice President for Student Affairs on how best to achieve the goals set forth in the Division of Student Affairs' strategic plan and how to accelerate the Division's and University's rise to higher levels of distinction
    • Members will collaborate with the Division of Student Affairs leadership team to provide guidance and feedback on all alumni engagement opportunities
  • Connect & Engage
    • Members will leverage their individual connections to help engage other individuals and organizations that can positively impact and help execute the mission of the Division of Student Affairs
  • Support
    • Members will invest their time and resources with the Division of Student Affairs in support of the mission of the Division and for the
      purpose of enhancing the student experience at UMD
