Dorothy Weinstein
Dorothy Weinstein has a long tenure working in health policy and health affairs in Washington, D.C. and has been employed at think tanks, universities, and non-profit health agencies at senior levels. Her expertise is in research, scholarly writing, advocacy, and project management.
Dorothy has a B.A. degree magna cum laude, honors program in philosophy at the University of Maryland and a M.A., Duke University, Sanford School of Public Policy and is member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a published author in health care delivery, biomedical research, technology, innovation, and environmental causes.
During her tenure as a student at The University of Maryland, Dorothy served as student director of the Legal Aid Office, Student Regent, and was an Elkins Awardee and a member of ODK. Currently, she is a member and former chair of Adele’s Circle of Women and an inaugural member of the Student Affairs Alumni Group for Engagement, both at the University of Maryland.
Dorothy currently teaches health policy and writing in the health sciences at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is a trustee at the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington and at the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She has served on the Child Health Board, Institutional Review Board, and Food Allergy boards at Children’s National and as a trustee of the Global Autoimmune Institute. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and has two children: Kara 29 and Mark 25.
