Planned & Named Giving

Today, you can leave a lasting impact on a University of Maryland student. Your gift will not only shape the course of their life forever, but also make a profound impression on your life and your family. Gift planning is a way to leave your legacy and honor your philanthropic goals.

Did you know there are creative ways to support the Division of Student Affairs and your loved ones at the same time? Planned giving is a process of considering what and when to give, as well as how to structure charitable gifts to meet personal financial goals.

Through planned giving, it is possible to:

  1. Make gifts to the Division of Student Affairs larger than you can afford through immediate outright contributions
  2. Retain control and use of assets you plan to donate later
  3. Receive lifetime income for yourself and your family
  4. Reduce income taxes, gift taxes, or estate taxes

To leave the Division of Student Affairs in your will, learn about the bequest language.
