Terps Against Hunger

Terps Against Hunger organizes and facilitates food-packaging events on UMD's campus in order to reduce the burden of hunger in local communities. All of our meals are distributed locally, working with our partners to provide assistance to children and families who do not have enough food on a day-to-day basis.

Patricia S. Higgins Scholarship Fund

The Patricia S. Higgins Scholarship was established in February 2008 by friends and colleagues of Patricia S. Higgins, who worked for Dining Services at the University for more than 46 years. The Patricia S. Higgins Scholarship provides annual scholarships for employees of Dining Services or their dependents who are enrolled at the University.

Hunger-Free UMD

The Hunger-Free UMD Fund works to alleviate food insecurity and food hardship among UMD-College Park students, faculty and staff.

Food Recovery Network Fund

The Food Recovery Network (FRN) is a network of student groups and individuals at UMD volunteering to recover the surplus food from the dining halls and sports games and donate it to hungry men, women and children in the DC area. Reducing food waste and providing for our neighbors makes our whole community stronger.

Dining Services Discretionary Fund

The Dining Services Discretionary Fund was established to provide operational, development, and student awards to members of the Department of Dining Services.
