About The WMUC Legacy

The WMUC Legacy Fund was established in September, 2013 in honor of the 65th anniversary of the campus station at the University of Maryland, and the opening of the exhibit “Saving College Radio: WMUC Past, Present and Future” at Hornbake Library.

This fund seeks to support and advance the only freeform radio station in the Washington DC/Baltimore area, which is also and one of the few remaining freeform college radio stations in the United States. As WMUC succeeds because of its student volunteers who operate the radio station, this fund seeks to directly supports any operating needs or facility upgrades.

Gifts in support of the WMUC Legacy Fund will support the current use fund until the minimum threshold required to convert this fund to endowment is reached.
