About the Omega Psi Phi Chi Delta Chapter Endowed Scholarship for the Student Success Initiative
The Omega Psi Phi Chi Delta Chapter Endowed Scholarship for the Student Success Initiative was established in 2022 by the Flagship Foundation. It provides merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students who have demonstrated leadership and active participation in programs and initiatives that benefit the Black student community and/or will have demonstrated leadership and active participation in the Student Success Leadership Council. The Student Success Leadership Council is open to students of all backgrounds.

Nadia Martin is a freshman electrical engineering major at UMD. During her first semester at UMD, Nadia had the opportunity to get involved with Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering (WECE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at UMD (IEEE@UMD). At the end of last semester she applied for a board position with IEEE, and this semester she began work as the Project Chair on the IEEE E-board. Through this position Nadia organizes and helps facilitate individual small projects. Additionally, she organizes and runs small sensor projects through the IEEE@UMD and Northrop Grumman Innovation Lab partnership.Nadia is also currently a part of a small project working on a nitrate sensor that will be attached to an autonomous environmental survey vessel (AESV) which will conduct tests in the Chesapeake Bay. Nadia looks forward to specializing her electrical engineering degree in signal processing and communication as she continues towards graduation at the University of Maryland.

I am a passionate cross-functional student from Trenton, New Jersey. I am a current senior, with a double degree in Psychology & Information Studies graduating in December 2023. I stand as a leader within my community as I see myself as a chameleon that adapts to new skills and workspaces. I am a first-generation student who is flexible, hardworking, enthusiastic, and passionate about learning and growing my skills beyond what I know in order to better enhance my expertise for future endeavors. I am currently in SSLC, S.I.S.T.A Code black, Club Basketball, and much more within the black community here on campus.
