About the Nandini R. Murthy Scholarship Funds
Nandini R. Murthy loved good books, exotic travel, and social justice. She had an enthusiasm for global culture, which she developed at Maryland in her pursuit of history, education, and Spanish. Led by her family’s commitment to helping others, she strove to create equal opportunities with her volunteer work at local nonprofits.
The Murthy Family established this scholarship in honor of Nandini’s ideals, in hopes the next generation of Terps may flourish regardless of where they came from.
About the Fund
The Nandini R. Murthy Scholarship Funds provides merit-based scholarships through the Division of Student Affairs for Fostering Terp Success students, which include:
- Students who have experienced foster care
- Are currently experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
- Are at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
- Or, are without a supportive family system
