About the Mitchell Family Endowed Scholarship for Veteran Student Life

It is with great pride that SSG (Ret.) Stephanie Mitchell established the Mitchell Family Endowed Scholarship for Veteran Student Life. Through this scholarship, Stephanie honors the sacrifices made by her family of veterans, ensuring their legacy of service is passed down to future generations.

About the Mitchell Family Veterans

Among some of the Mitchell family veterans are cousins Michael Mitchell, Cody Cob, and Marcus Davis; aunt Carla Smith-Mitchell, an admin. specialist and military police; uncles Clinton Mitchell Jr., military police, Kent Mitchell, combat medic and military police, and Curtis Perry. Stephanie’s grandparents — Linwood Tyson, a U.S. Navy veteran, and Rudolph and Clinton Mitchell, both U.S. Army veterans — also inspire her commitment to service.

About the Fund

The Mitchell Family Endowed Scholarship for Veteran Student Life is a testament to the enduring impact of military service and aims to empower veterans and their families to continue their educational journey with pride and support.

It provides merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students through the Division of Student Affairs. Eligible recipients are affiliated and/or military-connected with the U.S. Armed Forces through current or previous service.

A military-connected student refers to any student who is serving, has served, or is affiliated with any of the United States Armed Forces. A military-connected student also includes spouses, children, and other dependents affiliated with a military servicemember or veteran.
