About The ‘I Achieve, I Thrive’ Scholarship

At the age of 10, I vowed to become a foster parent and help foster students and students who were less fortune. As a former caseworker and teacher, students who wanted and needed extra support often came to me for help and I connected them to the right teacher, the right support and the right resource. As a foster parent since 2016 and foster parent of 10 foster children (over the years) and counting, I wanted to create a program of support for students.

- Denise M. Joseph (Detry) ‘92

The “I Achieve, I Thrive" Scholarship Fund, established by me, Denise M. Joseph (Detry) '92, supports scholarships for Fostering Terp Success students (students who have experienced foster care, are homeless or at risk of being homeless, or who are without a system of support) through the Division of Student Affairs.
