About The Bauckman Family
Theodore Bauckman graduated from Cornell University in 1953, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Following his commissioning, he served on the USS Mullany (DD-528) with the 6th and 7th Fleets prior to being honorably discharged in 1955. That same year, he married Joanne Bourne, his high school sweetheart and wife for 54 years until his passing in 2009. Ted and Joie passed a legacy of citizenship, patriotism and duty to their descendants which directly influenced two of their sons to serve in the U. S. military.

Mark remains active in the veteran community in San Diego and has served on the University of Maryland Veterans Scholarship Selection Committee. He has been married to his wife Janie for over 30 years. Her parents both served in the military during World War II and years after.
