Sierra Chapman-Hornsby

2025-2026 Scholar

Sierra Chapman is a junior at The University of Maryland College Park, from Prince George's county. She is majoring in Civil Engineering on the Environmental and Water Resources track, with a minor in Sustainability Studies and Global Engineering Leadership. She has earned a citation from the Environment, technology and Economy College Park Scholars program, as well as served as a peer mentor captain through that program during her sophomore year. She now works as a part of the Black Leadership Conference committee through the Student Success Leadership Council, as well as being an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow for Engineering Ethics. Sierra is captivated by the issues of environmental justice, sustainability, and the issue of climate change and she intends to further pursue these passions in her future career.
