Scott Sutherland

Scott grew up in Queen Anne, MD and has been a lifelong Washington Capitals fan. He joined the UMD
hockey team as a freshman. Initially, he did not see much ice time, but Scott showed the determination to
work hard and improve in any way he could. His contribution to the team grew every year. Scott's passion
for hockey and his love of the game are apparent in the way he approaches preparation. When he was not
blocking shots or screening the goalie on a power play, Scott took on a player-coaching role, urging his
teammates to victory. Scott has the positive, can-do attitude that every coach looks for. You couldn't
ask for a better teammate.
