“Each day I am appreciative of this internship. I get opportunities to gain
experience and increase my written and oral communication skills. I am writing
constituent letters, OP-EDs, and memos on hearings, editing letters and press
releases, giving tours and learning more about US history, researching various
political issues, talking to constituents through mail, email, and phone calls and
even on occasion holding the door for former Speaker of the House John
Boehner. As a girl born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I never thought an
opportunity like this internship would be possible and now that it is, it would
have not been without the scholarship.” -Rebecca Sikora, Office of Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler
