Nicole Spencer

2020-2021 Newcombe Scholar

Nicole Spencer was born in New York, NY, but moved to Hyattsville, MD at a young age. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Prince George’s Community College and is currently a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she is pursuing her degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences. As a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, Nicole has applied her classroom skills to community volunteer activities related to audiology and speech language pathology. In her junior year, she began working at Prince George’s Hospital center as a Newborn Hearing Screener. Nicole has gained valuable hands-on clinical experience that she hopes will help her in her future profession as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. As she advances her education and career, she hopes to diagnose and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
