Nicole Pollard

Nicole R. Pollard, Esq. is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, educated at the University of Maryland, College Park Robert H. Smith School of Business (1991, B.S. Finance) and Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law (1994).

Nicole is an Executive Assistant to the President at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Prior to her promotion to this position, she practiced labor and employment law for twenty-three years as in-house counsel to the nation’s largest private and public sector labor organizations - the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), AFSCME and the National Education Association (NEA). Ms. Pollard is admitted to practice law in Maryland, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia and several federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Nicole currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Maryland College Park Foundation (2015-present) and its Executive Committee (Chair, Committee on Trustees). She previously served on the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business Board of Advisors (2016-2021), the University of Maryland Alumni Association’s Board of Governors (2009-2019) and its Executive Council following her election as president (2013-2015), the University of Maryland System Alumni Association International Board of Directors (2016-2019) and the University of Maryland Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund Board of Directors (2014-2019). Nicole is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated and a member of the Links Incorporated.

Nicole’s passion is scholarships for students of color and women. She enjoys world travel, various genres of music, and researching her family’s genealogy.
