Nia Jolivet

2025-2026 Scholar

Nia Jolivet is a sophomore, Honors College student from Baltimore, MD triple majoring in Public Health Practice, English Language and Literature, and French Language and Literature respectively. Nia is also the Secretary of the Black Honors Caucus and a member of Eta Sigma Gamma, a health education honorary focused on extending useful public health knowledge to local communities and those around the globe. She is currently an intern with the Mid Shore Health Improvement Coalition, an organization of many cross-industry stakeholders working to improve the health of communities across Maryland's Eastern Shore. Being involved within these different organizations has allowed Nia to build a variety of different connections and cultivate a diverse set of knowledge from different fields. Nia’s involvement in different groups and her leadership position in particular has allowed me to bolster her time management, communication, and organization skills so that she can be active in every organization while still staying on top of my academic responsibilities. Nia is fascinated in the connection between literacy, language, and health outcomes and would like to perform research as to how literacy rates impact and predict health outcomes in societies across the globe.
