Mia Jocic

Mia Jocic is  a rising junior majoring in bioengineering at UMD. She’s also pursuing a minor in Science, Technology, Ethics, & Policy (STEP). On campus, Mia is heavily involved in the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM) as a chair of the Wet Lab Committee. This independent, student-led research opportunity uses synthetic biology to engineer solutions to a problem of our choice. She is also a tutor, peer mentor, and incoming Mentor Coordinator for Women in Engineering (WIE).
