Marie-Line Kam

2019-2020 Scholar

Marie-Line Kam is a senior Public Health Science major on the pre-med track. In addition, she is also pursuing a certificate in Women’s Studies. She was raised in Prince George’s County and graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 2016 from the Science and Technology program. Marie-Line began her matriculation as a TERP in Fall 2017 when she transferred as a sophomore from the College Of Southern Maryland. At the University of Maryland, she has held various leadership positions in organizations such as the Charles R. Drew Pre-Medical and Pre-Health Society, as well as the Do Better UMD Community Service and Self-Improvement Organization. She is also in the 2019-2020 cohort for the prestigious Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program. Her career goal is to someday become an OBGYN and establish her very own women’s health care center in an underserved area. As a future physician, she hopes to be able to bridge the gap between maternal and fetal mortality as it relates to minorities.
