Lourdes Long

2024-2025 Scholar

Lourdes Long has  truly enjoyed her experience at the University of Maryland so far. The history department is amazing. Lourdes’ advisors are all extremely helpful and genuinely care about her success. In addition, Lourdes has loved all of her professors thus far. She is currently working with Dr. Brewer, the Head of the Undergraduate History Department, on an internship called Slavery, Law & Power. As a result of her hard work and dedication to her academics, Lourdes is proud to say that her GPA, as of August 2024, is a 4.0.

Outside of academic pursuits, Lourdes has worked at 4work since January of this year. It's not always easy, but it's important work and she finds satisfaction in doing it. There's a certain kind of pride that comes with knowing she helps to keep the university running. Lourdes made some great friends at work. Her managers, Zak and Trisha, are both people whom she admires and respects deeply.
