Kaoutar Cheji

2023 Scholar

Kaoutar Cheji is a junior and transfer student from the Community College of Baltimore County. She came to the University of Maryland with an Associate Degree in Arts. During her time at my previous institution, she has held several leadership positions, including serving on the executive board of student life and student government. In these roles, she had the opportunity to work closely with Maryland representatives to create scholarships and fundraise for hospitals in Ukraine. She is proud to be a Mellon scholar and a Phi Theta Kappa honors society member. Additionally, Kaoutar previously conducted research as a fellow at the esteemed Johns Hopkins University. Now that she is at UMD, she is excited to continue her involvement in student government. She joined the SGA as a legislative board member and has been elected as a student senator representative for the Maryland Smith School of Business.
