Joshua Hanson grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and moved out to New Mexico in 2009 where he actively volunteered for 7 years with New Mexico Search and Rescue and the Mountain Rescue Association. As a volunteer, Joshua belonged to three different Search and Rescue teams, specializing in ground search, low angle and high angle technical rescue. In 2014, he became a licensed EMT to offer additional skills in the field.

Joshua enlisted in the Navy in February 2016 where he was assigned to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California and graduated with an associate degree in 2017. He served as a language analyst for several years before separating from the military in 2022. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
