Devin Cain

2017-2018 Scholar

Devin Cain is a senior Mechanical Engineering student from Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has loved his involvement in many different clubs and organizations during his past few years at the University of Maryland. He enjoyed participating in A Capella groups on campus and being a part of the Mayland IMAGES. Recently, he is most involved in Camp Kesem at University of Maryland, an organization which he worked to create here at UMD. Camp Kesem is a free week-long summer camp for children whose parents have been affected by cancer. Last year, Devin served as a Co-Director for their first summer camp, servicing over thirty children affected by a parents cancer and raising over thirty thousand dollars for the children. The organization was also started as a part of a social justice initiative through the College Park Scholars Public Leadership program. Upon graduation, Devin hopes to find a career in which he can combine his passions for social change and technology.
