University of Maryland Help Center Peer Counseling Gift Fund
The Help Center Hotline Peer Counseling provides a multitude of services to the campus community, including a telephone crisis intervention hotline, peer counseling, and an outlet of campus resources. The Help Center Peer Counseling Fund supports these valuable services so they may continue to assist those in need.
Returning Student Program Scholarship
The Returning Student Scholarship provides support for need-based scholarships for students enrolled at the University who are at least 25 years of age and who meet additional eligibility considerations. The Returning Student Scholarship is supported by Returning Student Program donors and the National Council of Jewish Women, Inc., Montgomery County MD Section in memory of Riddia Cass, a pioneer in the organization.
Marylin K. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund
Dr. Marilyn K. Brown was the Director of the UMCP Office of Institutional Studies (now OIRP). Her dedication to education and zest for life was not diminished by her challenging circumstances as a terminal patient and single mother of two, and she maintained her high academic standing despite her personal challenges. This scholarship honors her achievements and love for learning.
Gerald G. Portney Memorial Scholarship Fund
Clara Portney Felsher established this scholarship in honor of her husband, Gerald G. Portney. The income shall be used to provide financial assistance for the Returning Students Program of the Counseling Center at the University.
Counseling Center Professional Development Fund
The Counseling Center Professional Development Fund provides advanced professionals access to training opportunities for Counseling Center staff.
Counseling Center Fund
This fund provides operating support for the University of Maryland Counseling Center.
B. Udelle Friedland Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The B. Udelle Friedland Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established by Udelle’s family to honor her memory and to provide need-based scholarship support to returning students at the University of Maryland. The Friedland Family is honored to name this scholarship in her memory as she was committed to the betterment of herself and others through education.
