About Sigma Nu

Since our founding on January 1, 1869, at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., Sigma Nu Fraternity has been a pioneer in the fraternal world. Originally founded and known to this day as The Legion of Honor, Sigma Nu is the only social fraternity in existence founded in firm opposition of hazing and based on the principle of Honor. Sigma Nu is the first general college fraternity to offer risk reduction policies and a comprehensive membership education program, remaining committed to both our mission and vision for over 140 years.

About The Fund

The Sigma Nu Undergraduate Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships for undergraduate students at the University of Maryland. Preference will be given to active members of Sigma Nu fraternity who have demonstrated a history of community service.

How to Apply

Undergraduate members and associate members of Sigma Nu at the University of Maryland are eligible to apply for the Sigma Nu Undergraduate Scholarship.

Preference will be given to active members of Sigma Nu fraternity who have demonstrated a history of community service.

Requirements:

* Must be a brother of the Delta Phi chapter of Sigma Nu
* Must maintain a GPA of AT LEAST 3.2
* Must have some significant involvement outside of the fraternity

- Other organization
Holds a leadership position OR has been a member for 2 or more years

- Community service
Commits to a minimum of 8 hours per month
