Tyler Briones

2020-2021 Scholar

My name is Tyler Briones and I am a Sophomore Finance major here at the University of Maryland. I was initiated into Sigma Nu in the Spring of 2020, and in the following semester I served on the Executive Board as Recorder. I truly feel satisfaction knowing that others around me could depend on me to do my role to my utmost ability. This is what sparked my desire to run for commander, and in the Spring of 2021 I was elected. I have never been shy about presenting my opinions, and I always act with the fraternities best interest in everything I do. As Commander your job is not to be everyone’s friend, so it has been an important task for me to divide my personal relationships with doing what is needed to be done to keep the ship afloat. On top of my involvement with the fraternity, I have an internship at Seventy2Capital Wealth Management during the week. Additionally, I am a member of the club lacrosse team which has been a great facet for relieving stress and staying active on the side. Receiving this scholarship is a great honor, and I would like to thank everyone involved for their consideration.
