Dining

Dining on campus offers a myriad of options from convenience stores to full-service restaurants and everything in between. With plans for on-campus residents and off-campus commuters, convenient and delicious dining options are all over campus.

Learn more about all of your dining options on the Department of Dining Services website.

Committee Members

SAALOG (Student Affairs Assessment and Learning Outcomes Group) is comprised of Division of Student Affairs staff who possess knowledge, skills, and experience with assessment. Revised in fall 2019, the committee structure includes a Steering Group, Advisory Group, and additional Department Liaisons. A broader coalition of staff who have interest in assessment and/or learning outcomes may join the learning community to receive information about professional development opportunities, relevant articles and resources, and to engage in an on-going dialog.

Assessment Consultants

SAALOG members are available to assist with any assessment questions you may have, including assessment planning, writing learning outcomes, method selection, instrument development, or general assessment or learning outcomes training.

Critical questions to consider before beginning

Survey Platforms

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is a web-based survey tool available for use by all UMD faculty, students and staff to support teaching and research on campus.  Surveys can be created and distributed by anyone with UMD credentials.  Staff members are encouraged to use Qualtrics as their primary survey tool, but can use other UMD-supported tools when necessary (OrgSync, Google Forms). Staff members should avoid the use of other online tools such as Survey Monkey.

Assessment and Learning Outcomes

Vision Statement: To build knowledge of the holistic college experience so that students realize a lifelong impact in the world.

The Student Affairs Assessment and Learning Outcomes Group (SAALOG) provides training and guidance about the practice of assessment, design of learning outcomes, and use of evidence-based findings to guide practice. Through these efforts, we enhance our practice and service to students, and seek to tell the story of student affairs contributions to the student experience.
