Campus Pantry
Providing good quality and nutritious emergency food to UMD students, faculty, and staff experiencing food insecurity.
SNAP
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides supplemental income for purchasing food for low-income households. College students may be eligible for SNAP if they meet the exemption criteria.
Employment
Connect with the University Career Center to find jobs and internships, including on-campus jobs.
On-Campus Housing
Living on campus can be a great benefit with students. The Department of Resident Life can work with students to find the right housing option, and UMD has a special grant for Fostering Terp Success students that pays for break housing.
Off-Campus Housing
Off-Campus Housing Services is an excellent resource for students looking for housing in College Park and beyond, with a searchable database listing available rental properties, opportunities to sublet, and more.
FAFSA
FAFSA is the starting point for receiving financial aid, including the Maryland Tuition Waiver for Foster Youth, Maryland Tuition Waiver for Homeless Youth, Maryland Education and Training Voucher (ETV), and other grants and scholarships.
Tuition Waiver for Homeless Youth
For eligible UMD undergraduate students, who are state of Maryland residents, the Homeless Youth Tuition Waiver is available to students age 24 and under who are experiencing homelessness as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
Tuition Waiver for Foster Care Recipients
For eligible UMD undergraduate students, who are state of Maryland residents, the Maryland Tuition Waiver for Foster Care Recipients is available to foster care youth age 24 and under, who are currently in or recently emancipated from foster care, or are orphaned and certified as independent by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Emergency Funds
For when a verified crisis has negatively impacted a student's health, safety, wellbeing, and their ability to continue their education at UMD.
