Daniel M. Zolotorofe Memorial Scholarship Fund
About Daniel M. Zolotorofe
The Daniel M. Zolotorofe Foundation Scholarship Fund was established in 2012 by the family of the late Dan Zolotorofe, a University Junior who died tragically due to complications from Type 1 Diabetes in November 2011.
Dan was a loving, genuine, smart, unique and caring individual who lived every day to the fullest; the type of person who went out of his way to befriend everyone. Dan was a successful student and lifelong athlete who never lost sight of his goals, despite struggling most of his life with diabetes. Throughout his life, Dan was never afraid to be himself or to share his opinions. A proud Terp and TKE Brother, Dan was on track to graduate in 2013 with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Leadership Studies. He pledged Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity his freshman year and recently began strategizing his campaign to become his Chapter's President. As Dan would often say, "There's no place I'd rather be than at the University of Maryland."
About the Fund
To preserve and honor Dan's memory, scholarship(s) will be awarded annually to a full-time, University of Maryland undergraduate student who is an active member of Greek Life on campus, with a preference for a student who participated in Freshman Connection. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition, room, board or textbooks.
