Basic Needs Security

Any student who has difficulty affording groceries or accessing sufficient food to eat every day, or who lacks a safe and stable place to live, is encouraged to use the resources listed below for support.

Campus Pantry

The UMD Campus Pantry alleviates food insecurity and provides a safe space to distribute emergency food to current UMD students. The Campus Pantry is located in the lower level of the South Campus Dining Hall and is open Monday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Tuesday - Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Individual appointments are also available. Fostering Terp Success

Fostering Terp Success provides a safe and supportive campus network for students who were or are in foster care, who are homeless or at risk of being homeless, and who are without a supportive family system. In addition to assisting with basic needs, including food and stable housing, we work to remove additional barriers and assist students in accessing essential campus services, navigating challenges, and developing self-advocacy and life skills. Student Crisis Fund

The Student Crisis Fund isor students who have an unexpected critical situation and need immediate financial support. Students will be asked for basic information to describe their circumstances of the emergency need and what other sources of funds are available. For more information, visit
