Current Scholarships & Funds

Below is a complete list of all the scholarships, awards, prizes and programmatic funds that need your support within the Division of Student Affairs.

Should you have any questions about supporting one of the existing funds or want to establish a new fund, please contact Ed Kenny.

  • Terp Family Scholarship Fund

The Terp Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2005 by the Parent/Family Advisory Council to provide support for current students in good standing who may be unable to continue their education at the University due to extenuating financial circumstances. The fund provides a one-time award for the academic year and is available to students who have completed at least 24 credit hours at the University.
  • Terp Runners Club

Supports the activities, programs and competition related expenses of this club, as well as the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies. (Note: This club may not have its own fund, and may instead be supported though the University Recreation & Wellness Sport Club Enhancement Fund. If so, please mention the specific sports club you would like to donate to in the comments section of your donation)

  • Terp Thon Support Fund

Internships. A home away from home. Leadership opportunities. So much of the Maryland experience can be traced to the Division of Student Affairs. It complements the academic experience, fostering a sense of community and pride on campus and it enhances every student’s development by offering access to cultural experiences, civic engagement and recreation. Your gift allows Student Affairs to meet the needs of Maryland students and help each one develop into a responsible, healthy, civically engaged leader.

  • Terp Vets Alumni Endowed Veterans Scholarship

The Terp Vets Alumni Scholarship provides scholarships for student veterans active in Terp Vets, the University’s student veteran organization. Preference is given to student veterans who have either exhausted or are nearing the end of their GI Bill benefits.

  • Terps Against Hunger

Terps Against Hunger organizes and facilitates food-packaging events on UMD's campus in order to reduce the burden of hunger in local communities. All of our meals are distributed locally, working with our partners to provide assistance to children and families who do not have enough food on a day-to-day basis.
