Matthew Watson Memorial Scholarship Fund
About The Matthew Watson Memorial Scholarship
The Matthew W. Watson Memorial Scholarship was established in 2007 in memory of Matthew Watson by his dear family and friends.
Matthew Winter Watson was a loving son, brother, and friend. Matt had a wonderful sense of humor, was a passionate jazz saxophone player and member of the Centennial High School track and football teams. Matt entered the University of Maryland as a freshman in the Fall of 2005. He was a 20 year-old sophomore economics major and a member of Theta Chi Fraternity when he died suddenly in a car accident on May 5, 2007 in College Park, Maryland. In order to preserve Matt's memory, his family and friends established an endowed fund to support undergraduate students at the University.
