About the Fostering Terp Success Program

Fostering Terp Success is a campuswide community of support and belonging for students who have a history of foster care involvement, are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, and lack a supportive family system. Our comprehensive network of staff, faculty and alumni is committed to removing barriers to and assisting students in accessing essential campus services, navigating challenges, and developing self-advocacy and life skills.

About the Fund

The Fostering Terp Success Program Fund supports the purchase of necessities most students take for granted, such as public transportation, school supplies, and personal hygiene products. In addition, this Fund supports Terp Success Program Initiatives, including student mentoring, faculty/staff training sessions, and additional outreach to support students in need. For more information about the Fostering Terp Success Program Fund, please contact sagiving@umd.edu or 301-314-4900.
