Yaebin Park

2025 Scholar

As a junior at the University of Maryland, Yaebin Park is working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Immersive Media Design with a minor in General Business. Her time here has been transformative, helping her grow not only academically but also personally. Yaebin has faced some tough challenges, from financial stress to personal losses, but Maryland has been a place where she’s found support, excelled in her studies, and connected with amazing classmates and faculty. Moving to Maryland in 2019 was a big adjustment, especially as an adult, but the Department of Immersive Media Design —especially her advisor, Alyssa—helped Yaebin feel like she truly belonged here. Growing up in New York and moving from place to place, I never felt like I had a real hometown. But now, Yaebin feels like Maryland is home, not just because of school, but because she’s found real mentorship, friendship, and genuine support here.
