Uyen Phuong Nguyen

Ms. Uyen Phuong Nguyen is a third-year Computer Science major at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is pursuing a cybersecurity specialization in this field. Her interests also include quantum computing, quantum information, quantum cryptography, and their future impacts on security or privacy. She was on the Fall 2021 Dean’s List. Since February 2020, she has been a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Broadly speaking, she desires to leverage her future computer science expertise to benefit society, especially, in helping the underprivileged. Ms. Nguyen emigrated from Vietnam in December 2017 as a political refugee and has lived in MD since that time. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga and meditation.
