Suraj Kalwaghe

2024-2025 Scholar

Suraj Kalwaghe is  a master's student in Robotics at the University of Maryland, graduating in Spring 2025. His academic pursuits focus on advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, along with a strong passion for developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. At UMD, Suraj has had the privilege of working on cutting-edge projects, such as autonomous systems and robotics middleware frameworks, which have deepened his technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

Apart from academics, Suraj  actively engages in professional development opportunities, including networking at conferences and participating in workshops. Additionally, he was part of Conference & Visitor Services during the summer of 2024, where he had the opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, learn about their perspectives, and address their needs. This experience helped Suraj step out of his comfort zone, significantly enhancing his communication skills and overcoming his fear of public speaking.
