Stacey Greaves

2019-2020 Newcombe Scholar

My name is Stacey Greaves. I am a divorced mother of five. My oldest two are in college, and I have three still at home with me. I am a part time student at UMCP, but I also work a demanding full time job as a billing manager for a behavioral health facility. I graduated magna cum laude with my A.S. in public health in May 2018. I am now pursuing my degree in family science. My hope is to create and run a program for women who are transitioning from a dark time in their life into better days. My population may include women recovering from addiction, incarceration, or domestic violence victims. I would like to have transitional housing as well as offer mental health, physical health, and other resources to help them better their lives. I am passionate about families and about helping people. As a former homeless person, I hope to inspire others and show them that they can indeed get through these dark days into better times.
