Ross Sawilowsky

2023-2024 Scholar

Ross Sawilowsky is currently pursuing Bachelors of Arts in psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies (WGSS). As an undergraduate student at UMD, he has played a key role as President of Campus queers and Allies (CQA) and Male-Identified Queers (MIQ), launching MIQ to be more inclusive of nonbinary students than UMD’s previous masculine-oriented queer student groups. Through his work with the LGBTQ+ Equity Center this semester, Ross has helped create and execute programs to increase trans inclusion at UMD. These programs included Trans Day of Visibility events which promoted basic needs resources on campus and centered voices of gender diverse BIPOC, as well as the Binding and Tucking initiative.
