2019-2020 Scholar

My experience in SEE has tremendously helped me give back to the university. When I was a freshman, I worried about feeling like I had no impact or purpose in this university, especially with such a large student population. Thankfully, joining SEE gave me a voice and home that made me feel like I was contributing to something magical. Being in SEE has allowed me to first-handedly bring joy and excitement to the campus body, which is a privilege that I am fortunate for. Working behind the scenes to program and produce our events has further shown me the significance of hard work and teamwork. The work put in behind our events is probably overlooked by many, but I have discovered that it is not necessarily about the praise and benefits with being in SEE – it is about providing diverse events for our students of all identities and giving them an escape from the stress that coincides with college.
