Nina Belliveau

2023-2024 Scholar

Nina Belliveau is entering her junior year at the University of Maryland. She is currently studying sociology with a strong focus in social statistics and analytics. Her experience here at UMD has been an unparalleled one. Throughout these first couple of years she has had the opportunity to gain a profound understanding of the social world that surrounds us. Today, she reminisces about her high school graduation where she stood in cap and gown, believing that she had learned all there is to know about social science. Unbeknownst to her, Nina would soon have the privilege of attending one of the best institutions in the U.S where her knowledge of sociology would expand significantly. She can recall numerous times being in a lecture hall and taking a step back to acknowledge the brilliant minds that surrounded me. Knowing that she is a part of this intellectual community gives her immense pride.
