Melissa Rose

A veteran at eighteen from a commitment when I enlisted into the Army. Being on deployments to poor war stricken countries has changed my life in many ways. One example was to appreciate the life I have by the route I took serving and living in a great country. Now at a turning point in life with new goals and a family, I am pursing an MBA to start a business. The military has provided me endless opportunities from a foundation of important life skills like teamwork, attention to detail, loyalty, integrity, and many more skills and experiences. My academic goals are not only to pass the program, but to take the valuable skills and be able to apply them in the career setting and community. A few community nonprofits I am currently involved in are a community gardening and development group, zero-waste group and a watersports group where I empower through sharing the love of watersports.  My interest lies in community building, sustainability, reducing waste, saving 3-P’s, watersport activities and making an overall impact to our earth. I have a strong passion to make a difference and strive to find a career path that includes these passions and raise more awareness to these issues globally.
