Maurice Dorsey

Maurice has worked in both the public and private sectors, finding his career in secondary education, higher education, and government. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture in 2012, concluding 42 years of professional service. He was inducted into the Sigma Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), a nationally recognized leadership honor society, 2022. He has pledged $50,000.for the establishment of Maurice W. Dorsey, Ph.D. and Robert J. Battjes, D.S.W. Endowed Scholarship for the Student Success Initiative, in memory of his late partner; and the Current Use Scholarship For the Student Success Initiative. He has life membership in six national organizations who missions are advancing public education and African American life. In his retirement he has published five books in honor of key protagonist in his life. He is 76 years, and resides in Washington, DC.
