Lindsay Hancock

2023-2024 Scholar

Lindsey Hancock is currently in her senior year at the University of Maryland. She is in the education program for Elementary Education with an area of emphasis in science. She is currently working at a local elementary school and is interning in a third grade classroom. The school that she is working at is a community school as well as a Title I school. For Lindsey, teaching is really vital in her life as well as making a difference in young students' minds and lives which is important for her to make a difference for her students and children at a local level.

Outside of school, she is in a Greek life organization, Kappa Delta which is one of the sororities on campus at the University of Maryland. Lindsey is able to progress her education as well as create bonds and relationships through shared experiences together with her sisters. Being in a sorority has helped her gain an interest in our philanthropy as well as creating relationships with the girl scouts that they sponsor because they have the honor of having and focusing on two different philanthropies. Lindsey’s sorority donates their time to local girl scouts and they donate  money and raise funds for PCAA.
