Portrait of Lina Gomez

Lina Gomez

Lina Gomez is a Geographic Sciences student at the University of Maryland College Park. She served 6 years as a Cryptologic Language Analyst with the United States Air Force and brings her dedication to service into her current pursuits, focusing on environmental science and environmental protection. She is passionate about reducing the impacts of climate change, developing solutions and methods to protect fragile ecosystems, and inspiring change in her community. The field study that she attended in Greenland in the summer of 2022 focused on climate change of Arctic ecosystems. She is hopeful through sharing her experiences, both abroad where she worked side by side with researchers and at home, she can inspire other students and peers to see how their everday choices have an impact.
