Kyle Dineen

2021 Scholar

Kyle Dineen is a senior, pre-med kinesiology student graduating in May 2022. Kyle grew up in Frederick, Maryland, and attended Frederick Community College where he received multiple awards for honors research, leadership, and academic achievement. In 2019, he transferred to UMD on the full-tuition Frederick Douglas Scholarship and Coca-Cola New Century Transfer Scholarship. Kyle works as an undergraduate teaching assistant in the kinesiology and biological science programs, is an editor for the Illuminate research journal, and is vice president of the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education’s Service Learning Certificate Program. Kyle also serves as the Executive Chair and UMD representative to the Maryland Higher Education Commission, where he has written several policy recommendations for the Governor's education commission. He is the campus programming chair for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Student Alumni Leadership Council and is the Alumni and Membership Chair of Omicron Delta Kappa’s Sigma Circle, the nation’s premier leadership society. Kyle hopes to graduate summa cum laude and pursue graduate degrees in science and medicine.
