Kayla Buckalew

2025 Scholar

Kayla Buckalew is an aspiring microbiologist who took a gap year... that lasted for 6 years. She spent that time working and exploring, which gave her extremely valuable life experience. As a teenager, Kayla had been dead set on being a travel nurse, and so she enrolled in the nursing program at my local community college. During clinicals, her circumstances changed, and so Kayla had to leave.Over the years Kayla has learned so much and grown from a starry-eyed teen to a mature adult with a renewed strength and drive to reach her full potential.
