Julia Mikolajczak is a third-year Criminology & Criminal Justice major with minors in Global Poverty and Public Leadership, and also in the University Honors and Beyond the Classroom programs. She is from Niagara Falls, NY, and I will be graduating a year early from UMD in Spring 2019. She serves on University Student Judiciary as both Chair of the Appellate Board and Selections Co-Chair on the Executive Board and is also on the Executive Board of Preventing Sexual Assault as their Event Coordinator. She is finishing her third semester as a Team Leader for the educational advocacy organization Partners in Print, which is based out of STAMP and part of the America Reads*America Counts program.

Additionally, she founded a new student organization at UMD in her sophomore year, the Out-of-State Student Association, in order to create a supportive environment to help out-of-state students make friends on campus and explore the local area. She is also a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta & Phi Eta Sigma, and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. She is very interested in criminal and family law, and served as a Teaching Assistant for CCJS 418D: Evolving Legal Issues. She interned for DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, which works to provide quality legal representation to victims of domestic violence and at-risk children. After graduation, she plans on attending law school with the goal of becoming a prosecutor or a judge.
