“I’ve had the opportunity to engage in the political process and understand how our congress works.   I have attended many briefings on different topics of interest to congress, listened in on a hearing by the Foreign Affairs committee on Guantanamo Bay and attended a speech given by Speaker Ryan on the state of political affairs. Without the generous support of Bright Futures, my metro and lunch costs would have been extremely high making it difficult to work as frequently and truly immerse myself in this experience. I’ve been grateful for the internship and I hope to use the information I’ve learned here to pursue other policy-related work.” -Jaime Capron, Office of Congressman Curt Clawson
