Ingrid Garcia

2020 - 2021 Scholar

Ingrid Garcia is a junior majoring in Public Health Science at The University of Maryland School of Public Health. She is currently the treasurer of Living for the Planet at UMD, a club that educates UMD students about the most prevalent environmental health issues. She is also a former global health intern at the American Public Health Association, in this role she grew passionate about health promotion and disease prevention and became familiar with the key issues and actors in international health and development, specifically in Latin American and the Caribbean. She hopes to continue her higher education career in a master’s program. Her areas of interest are virology, environmental health, global health, and health equity.
