Senior Associate Vice President for Well-Being

Dr. Warren Kelley is the Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Maryland College Park (UMD). Warren represents the Division in collaborative partnerships, manages major financial, facilities and administrative functions for the Division. He leads and manages the Health Center, Counseling Center, Recreation & Wellness, Student Conduct, and supervises the Interim Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Student Success Initiative.

Warren has co-chaired University-wide initiatives including: The Joint President/Senate Inclusion & Respect Task Force, UMD Closing the Achievement Gap Initiative, UMD Internship Task Force, Veterans Task Force, and chaired the 2011-2030 UMD Facilities Master Plan Transportation Committee. He created the UMD Alcohol Coalition, the Undocumented Student Working Group and the Student Affairs Diversity Initiative.

Warren served on the Governor’s Task Force to study the presence of destructive groups at colleges and universities across Maryland; advised the Maryland Secretary of Health & Mental Hygiene on alcohol abuse prevention efforts. He co-founded and ran the NASPA Region II Mid-Managers Institute, a premier training program for student affairs professionals, and has taught numerous courses on strategic planning, resource management, and diversity and inclusion. Warren is an affiliate assistant professor in the College of Education. Warren has been the recipient of the President’s Distinguished Service Award and the NASPA Outstanding Service to NASPA award, Region II. He holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, a Master’s degree in General Administration and a Bachelor of Architecture.
