David Suggs

2020 - 2021 Scholar

David is a senior government and politics major at the University of Maryland. This fall, he will be the editor of the sports section — a section he’s been a part of for a little more than a year. Since joining The Diamondback, David has covered gymnastics, field hockey, and men's lacrosse (for six games). In addition to The Diamondback, he is a part of UMD's Black Male Initiative leadership council. An avid basketball player and soccer fan, when David is not writing articles, he is likely watching my beloved Washington Wizards or Everton play (and most likely lose). David hopes to help increase the diversity on the sports desk, giving opportunities to underrepresented communities that may bring new perspectives to stories in the future.
